Jim Bailar has extensive experience in designing and analyzing propellers for full-scale manufacture and use, as well as, for hydrodynamic research. Designs include fixed pitch, controllable pitch, contrarotating, rotor-stator, supercavitating, and podded units. Jim Bailar specializes in Advanced Blade Section propellers that increase cavitation free speed, reduce erosion, and/or increase efficiency and top speed.

Jim Bailar also has considerable experience developing and automating design and analysis procedures and developing graphical interfaces for physics-based design and analysis programs.
